Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to as Lita Ford) is an British born American singer on guitar who took the role of lead singer for The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They gained attention for their provocative songs and punk-rock style. The band was never able to the group to be an instant hit in the United States, however they did gain a fair amount of attention in other countries and in particular Japan. The band broke up in 1979, Ford started a lucrative solo career with heavy metal. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the Album Out for Blood. Ford vanished for some years from the music scene as the two albums failed to draw much attention. The hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in the year 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her success was only brief and after a couple of more years, she disappeared. Then she returned with the release of 'Black in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' about 15 years later. "Time Capsule," her debut album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016 by her. Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
