Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and songwriter. Sara Ramirez was brought up by her American mother and faced a lot racial taunts and made her feel unwelcome. When she went to school contests and received the highest praise for her singing when she was in the ninth grade the young girl started to feel more confident. Not only did she gain confidence from the experience, but she also changed plans for her career. At the age of 22 she was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot she portrayed the Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. Following that, in 2007, she was cast on the ABC series Grey's Anatomy and became more famous. In addition to being a popular singer, she released a solo as well as an extended version. In her role as an activist, she is a tireless advocate for LGBT equality.
