Zoe-perry

Perry is the daughter of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first television performances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the character. Perry was forbidden to start acting in front of her family until adulthood, as they feared the stress it would create. Perry she was shy for acting in school, began to perform in the theater at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new acquaintances. Perry went on to New York, where she got small roles on shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The feeling of homesickness brought Perry her back home California, where theater jobs were readily available. Perry performed with her mom as part of The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. She appeared in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie and Kevin McKidd. This was performed at West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry played nine roles in The Family, an ABC film The Family, in 2016. In 2017, Perry starred in an appearance on ABC's political thriller Scandal alongside her father. In the same year, she portrayed a child version of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother as a young version. She was cast in the role in an audition that was open despite having a connection to this character.
